Job summary

Mackinnon Bruce International is hiring a Field Service Technician for our client in Pitman, NJ. The role involves servicing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing compressed air equipment at customer sites within about a 90-minute radius of the Pitman facility.

Field Service Technician - Compressed Air Equipment

Location: Pitman, New Jersey

Salary: $35-$42 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday | No overnight travel

Mackinnon Bruce International is partnering with a leading provider of compressed air equipment solutions to recruit a Field Service Technician to join their team based in Pitman, NJ.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technician with a background in industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, HVAC, or electrical troubleshooting who enjoys working directly with customers and maintaining critical industrial equipment.

The Role

As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing compressed air equipment at customer sites within approximately a 90-minute radius of the Pitman facility.

You'll work across a variety of industrial environments, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, carrying out preventative maintenance, and helping ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, servicing, and repairs on compressed air equipment and associated systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve industrial electrical faults, including working with 240V and 460V systems.
• Carry out mechanical repairs and maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Assist with piping, installation, and associated equipment maintenance where required.
• Respond to service calls and provide technical support to customers across the assigned territory.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
• Follow all relevant health, safety, and operational procedures.
• Participate in an on-call rotation approximately one week every 8-10 weeks.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with candidates who have a practical, hands-on technical background in one or more of the following areas:

• Industrial mechanical maintenance or repair.
• HVAC, refrigeration, or related mechanical systems.
• Industrial equipment servicing and maintenance.
• Facilities maintenance within a commercial or industrial environment.
• Industrial electrical troubleshooting, ideally involving 240V and 460V systems.
• Piping, installation, or maintenance of mechanical systems.

Experience working with compressed air equipment would be beneficial, but candidates with transferable skills from other industrial or mechanical environments are encouraged to apply.

You’ll also need to be comfortable working independently in the field, troubleshooting problems, interacting professionally with customers, and managing your workload across a local service territory.

Additional requirements:

• Based within a reasonable commuting distance of Pitman, NJ, ideally around 30-45 minutes from the shop.
• Willingness to travel locally within the assigned territory.
• Own a basic set of hand tools; shared tools and equipment are available.
• Flexibility to participate in the scheduled on-call rotation.
