Job summary

NES Fircroft is partnering with a long-established power electronics manufacturer with 60+ years of experience, expanding its U.S. Field Service organization.

The role focuses on commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of advanced BESS and inverter technology, with remote work and travel to client sites. You will work directly with customers, EPCs and engineering teams to resolve issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support system startup, energization and testing.

Qualifications

• Experience in field service, commissioning, renewable energy, energy storage, or power electronics.
• Hands-on experience with BESS, inverters, PCS, or similar power conversion equipment.
• Strong AC/DC troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
• Willingness to travel Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

• Commission, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair BESS and related equipment.
• Support system startup, energization, functional testing, and controls integration.
• Diagnose faults across AC/DC systems and power electronics.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximise system reliability.
• Troubleshoot using schematics, wiring diagrams, system data, fault codes, and electrical test equipment.
• Work with customers, EPCs, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.

I’m partnering with a long-established power electronics manufacturer with more than 60 years of industry experience that is continuing to expand its U.S. Field Service organization.

This is a strong opportunity to join an established business at a major growth point within Battery Energy Storage Systems and inverter technology, working directly on the commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced power conversion equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Commission, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair BESS, inverters, and Power Conversion Systems.
• Support system startup, energization, functional testing, and controls integration.
• Diagnose faults across AC/DC systems, power electronics, communications, and electrical equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize system reliability and uptime.
• Troubleshoot using schematics, wiring diagrams, system data, fault codes, and electrical test equipment.
• Work directly with customers, EPCs, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience within field service, commissioning, renewable energy, energy storage, or power electronics.
• Hands-on experience with BESS, inverters, PCS, or similar power conversion equipment.
• Strong AC/DC electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams.

Location

Fully remote with travel to clients' site.

We are looking for candidates to be based in TX, NC, NV or New England.
