Job summary

LS Electric America Inc. is seeking a skilled Service Engineer to lead commissioning and after-sales support for LV and MV distribution equipment in the North American market under its own brand. Travel for training, service, and other activities is required to ensure customer satisfaction and system performance.

You will read electrical diagrams, troubleshoot, and coordinate with clients and internal teams to deliver timely maintenance and upgrades, while building strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

  • HVAC (not required) but strong understanding of electrical distribution equipment is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection, testing, calibration, adjustments and warranty work on LV/MV equipment.
  • Provide commissioning, service support, and technical liaison with clients.
  • Diagnose issues, read electrical drawings, and perform system upgrades.

LS ELECTRIC AMERICA ("LSEA"), previously known as LG Industrial Systems, a global manufacturer and supplier of electrical equipment and products, is looking to establish its presence in the North American market under its own brand name.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Service Engineer to join our team. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing commissioning, and technical service support on LV and MV electrical distribution Equipment. This role ensures seamless integration of our systems and provides exceptional after-sales service to meet customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspection, testing, calibration, adjusting, part component replacement services and warranty work with various tools such as power tools and electrical test equipment.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure timely and accurate deployment.
  • Provide troubleshooting, diagnostics, and resolution of technical issues.
  • Read and understand electrical drawings and diagrams for troubleshooting.
  • Arrange and manage regular maintenance and system upgrades for clients.
  • Act as a technical liaison between the company and clients.
  • Deliver training and guidance to clients on system operations.
  • Ensure effective communication with clients during service activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of service, testing, and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare detailed service reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance system performance and service efficiency.
  • Provide feedback to product development teams for ongoing improvement.
  • Travel for training, service and other activities.
Skills Required for the Position
  • Vocational education, military training, or transferable experience in electrical theory or similar discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in installation, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintenance in some or all of the following areas: low or medium voltage switchgear, transformer, relay protection system (not mandatory but preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Bilingual preferred (Korean and English).

Additional Information
  • Travel to other states is necessary to develop new accounts and clients (40 % expected). Work week is 40 hours with rare instances of unpaid overtime.
