Job summary

ZefSci, based in Indianapolis, is seeking a Service Engineer to be the technical expert laboratories rely on to keep analytical instruments running at peak performance. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair SCIEX and Shimadzu LC-MS systems across a multistate territory.

You will travel extensively, partner with scientists, manage preventive maintenance, document activities, and escalate issues as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field service or related analytical instrumentation experience.
• Hands on experience with SCIEX equipment, ideally more recent SCIEX product lines.
• Hands on experience with Shimadzu LC systems.
• Strong understanding of LC MS systems, components, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Support SCIEX LC MS systems, with a focus on more recent SCIEX product lines.
• Support Shimadzu LC platforms, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Diagnose issues quickly, resolve them effectively, and optimize system performance.
• Travel extensively throughout the North Central and South Central territory to support client sites.
• Partner directly with scientists and laboratory teams as their technical expert.
• Manage preventive maintenance, documentation, and escalations when needed.

As a Service Engineer at ZefSci, you'll be the technical expert laboratories rely on to keep critical analytical instruments operating at peak performance. Working with advanced chromatography and mass spectrometry systems, you'll deliver installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services that directly support scientific research and laboratory productivity.

What you'll do

• Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills


• CTC PAL system experience is an asset


• Waters equipment experience is an asset


• Ability and willingness to travel extensively, including overnight travel


• Ability to work directly with scientific end users
