KERN Precision Inc. - a subsidiary of KERN Microtechnik GmbH and part of the AMETEK Ultra Precision Technologies group - is growing rapidly and looking to add a Field Service Engineer to support our customers in North America.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician with expertise in CNC machinery to join our service team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing CNC machines at customer sites. You’ll be the face of our company in the field, ensuring customer satisfaction and optimal machine performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Diagnose and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues on-site in North America in a timely manner

· Install, commission, and test CNC machines and associated automation systems at customer facilities

· Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize machine efficiency

· Perform machine demonstrations as needed

· Accurately document all service activities, including parts used, labor time, and technical issues encountered

· Telephone support for customers

Requirements:

· Experience in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues

· Professional interaction with customers

· Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics

· Proficient with diagnostic tools

· Knowledge of CNC milling is required

· Knowledge of Heidenhain control system beneficial but not required

· Basic knowledge of programming and setup of CNC machines

· Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively
