Job summary

LanceSoft is seeking a Field Services professional to install, maintain, and support IT infrastructure in data center environments in Athens, Ohio. The role emphasizes structured cabling, server, network, and rack equipment installation, with emphasis on safety and quality.

You will perform MACD moves, document test results, and ensure proper cable routing and labeling while adhering to MOPs and engineering drawings. The compensation is hourly with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred.
• 2+ years in data centers, IT infrastructure, or related field.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or elevated surfaces.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, installation documents, and MOPs.

Responsibilities

• Install servers, network devices, and storage in racks.
• Install, route, terminate, label, and manage copper and fiber cables.
• Install rack PDUs and verify power connections.
• Provision equipment and establish out-of-band management connections.
• Conduct testing, fiber verification, and equipment turn-up.
• Coordinate moves, adds, changes, and hardware replacements (MACD).
• Maintain installation records, inventory, test results, and documentation.
• Follow safety procedures and escalate technical issues as needed.

Job Title: Field Services

The role involves installing, maintaining, and supporting IT infrastructure in data center environments. Candidates with experience in data center operations, structured cabling, telecommunications, or IT infrastructure are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Install servers, network devices, and storage equipment in racks.
• Install, route, terminate, label, and manage copper and fiber cables.
• Install rack power distribution units (PDUs) and verify power connections.
• Perform equipment provisioning, hardware installation, and out-of-band (OOB) management connections.
• Conduct basic testing, fiber verification, and equipment turn-up activities.
• Perform moves, adds, changes, disconnects (MACD), and hardware replacements.
• Maintain installation records, inventory updates, test results, and documentation.
• Follow safety procedures and elevate technical issues when needed.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma, technical certification, vocational training, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in data centers, structured cabling, telecommunications, field services, or IT infrastructure.
• Knowledge of servers, racks, networking equipment, power distribution, and copper/fiber cabling.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, installation documents, and Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
• Experience with rack-and-stack, equipment installation, cabling, and testing.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders or elevated platforms when required.

$28.00 - $32.00 per hour on W2
