Job summary

NYNE Mechanical, a division of NECI, is seeking a Field Service Valve Technician to repair and service valves in the field and shop. You will troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, assemble, calibrate, and test safety relief valves, isolation valves, actuators, and related equipment while upholding safety, quality, and meticulous documentation.

You will work independently in the field and as part of a team, with hands‑on responsibilities and travel opportunities.

Qualifications

• Mechanical associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Experience with valve repair, testing, troubleshooting, or rotating/mechanical equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, teardown, repair, assembly, calibration, and testing of valves and actuators.
• Diagnose failures and recommend the proper repair scope.
• Complete field service work safely and ensure repairs meet applicable code and customer requirements.
• Document repair, testing, and service activity in real time using photos, reports, and work order records.
• Maintain field service equipment, tooling, trucks, and trailers in ready‑to‑work condition.
• Support inventory, final inspection, packaging, shipping, and general shop operations.
• Help maintain strong housekeeping, 5S, and safety standards.

Compensation

• Competitive hourly pay rate range of $20-35/hr depending on experience, skills and qualifications
• Premium pay for travel and field work on top of hourly rate
• Daily per diem allowance while travelling

The posted salary range represents a good faith estimate of the expected base compensation for this role at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, assignment mix, and business needs.

The Role

What You’ll Bring

• Mechanical associate degree or equivalent hands‑on experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Experience with valve repair, testing, troubleshooting, or rotating/mechanical equipment preferred
• Ability to work independently in the field and as part of a team
• Good communication and computer skills, including Microsoft 365
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and off‑hours as needed
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. and work in physically demanding field and shop environments
