Job summary

Sterling Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to support robotic welding systems at customer facilities in the Minneapolis area. The role involves hands-on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and remote repair work, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

You will read blueprints and electrical schematics, diagnose problems, and work with engineering teams to improve equipment performance. Travel approximately 85% with expenses covered by the company.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and robotic systems.

  • Operate and support robotic welding systems at customer sites.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Monitor performance and ensure high-quality production.
  • Install and commission autonomous welding cells when needed.
  • Document service activities and track inventory.
