Job summary

Spark Car Wash, a high growth express exterior car wash company headquartered in Summit, NJ, seeks a Field Technician to join the Operations team. The role is field-based, serving stores across Northern New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, with travel and on-site requirements.

You will perform maintenance, troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and water systems, uphold safety, manage parts inventory, coordinate with vendors, and support new store openings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Proven troubleshooting/maintenance experience on electrical systems (VFDs, relays, sensors, switches, three-phase motors).
• Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics (solenoids, regulators, valves, compressors, pumps).
• Experience with mechanical components (conveyors, bearings, gearboxes, welding).
• Experience with water systems (reclaim, RO systems, boilers, softeners).
• Preventative maintenance across multiple system types.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
• On-call availability after hours and willingness to travel 25% across NJ/NY/PA.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and meet MVR requirements.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance audits: complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists.
• Process & scheduling: maintain maintenance schedules for all equipment.
• Troubleshooting & repairs: diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, and water system issues.
• Safety optimization: enforce safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Inventory management: track parts, tools, and equipment components.
• Vendor coordination: procure equipment, schedule service, manage relationships.
• Installation support: assist with equipment delivery and setup for new stores or remodels.
• Reporting: document downtime, repair activity, and facility concerns.
• Special projects: assist with additional duties as assigned.
