Purpose and Scope

The Field Service Technician performs client-site installation, service, and maintenance on company-manufactured and/or distributed equipment within the assigned regional area(s). The incumbent provides technical support in diagnosing operational and/or technical issues of applicable equipment. All responsibilities are performed in compliance with company policies and procedures, health and safety, and regulatory guidelines.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Performs all equipment installation, service, and/or maintenance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
2. Provides high-level technical in-service support for cross-divisional teams and/or customers as requested.
3. Handles confidential patient and/or health information, complying with company policies, HIPAA, and other regulations.
4. Ensures data accuracy and integrity within applicable systems throughout the documentation process.
5. Processes documentation and parts in compliance with company policies on a routine basis.
6. Maintains field service inventory according to management recommendations, ensuring accountability.
7. Maintains assigned company vehicle, credit cards, and other business accounts per policies.
8. Contributes to operational improvements within assigned functions to maximize efficacy and efficiency.
9. May provide cross-coverage for additional regional areas as needed.
10. Assists with projects as assigned by the supervisor.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Participation in on-call rotations required, including 24-hour coverage schedules.
• Must be available for overtime as needed.
• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials possible.
• Routinely lift/move up to 70 pounds.
• Extensive travel may be required.

Education

High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree desirable; Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.

Experience and Skills

• 4-6 years of related experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience in dialysis/hospital environment preferred.
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office and related applications.
• Excellent customer service, professionalism, discretion, and tact.
• Strong communication skills for diverse audiences.
