Job summary

Otovo SRL in Hemet, CA is seeking a Field Service Technician to service solar energy systems, battery storage, and generators across residential and commercial sites. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment, perform preventive maintenance, comply with NEC/AHJ, read schematics, and document service activity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years of electrical experience required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of NEC, AHJ, and utility interconnection requirements.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders/on rooftops.
• Willingness to travel locally and work OT as needed.
• State-required electrical certification or license (Journeyman, Wireman, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring NEC/AHJ/utility compliance.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout, and fall protection.
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs as needed.
• Communicate with homeowners regarding system status and repair recommendations.
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites.

Position Summary

Location: Hemet, CA and the Inland Empire

Otovo is seeking a skilled and dependable Field Service Technician to join our growing renewable energy team. In this role, you'll service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage solutions, and generators.

This position is ideal for an experienced electrical professional who enjoys hands-on technical work, solving complex problems, and delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the transition to clean energy.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment
