Job summary

Service Station Systems, Inc. is hiring a Field Service Technician in California to service fuel dispensers, POS systems, and environmental equipment. You will travel to customer sites from Sacramento, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on fuel dispensers and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot leaks and replace components such as nozzles and hoses.
• Assist with tank monitoring and sump pump operations; install/replace as needed.
• Perform pressure testing and replace meters, filters and sensors.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues on dispensers and POS systems.
• Follow safety protocols, document work, and maintain organized vehicle.
• Travel to customer sites daily with occasional overnight stays; paid.

Job Details:

• $26-$28 an hour to start, with +$2-$3 an hour conditional increase within 12 months.
• Reports to: Sacramento, CA location
• Shifts: Sunday – Thursday (days & nights) & Tuesday-Saturday (days & nights) 730-4pm or 6pm-230am.

Job Duties (Training is provided):

• Perform routine maintenance on fuel dispensers (Wayne, Gilbarco, etc.), including replacing nozzles and breakaway hoses.
• Use hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers) and power tools (drills) for maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and repair fuel dispenser leaks, such as leaking nozzles, pumps, valves. Replace O-rings, gaskets, and basic piping fixtures.
• Assist with tank monitoring and sump pump operations. Install or replace sump pumps.
• Perform pressure testing, replace meters, filters and faulty sensors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues at dispensers or Point of Sale (POS) systems. Replace electrical components and perform basic voltage measurements using a voltmeter/multimeter.
• Follow job documents and safety protocols, take detailed job notes and update relevant systems with laptop or ipad. Set up safety equipment and barricades as needed.
• Maintain a well-organized and fully stocked company vehicle, ensuring it is clean and functional.
• Drive to customer sites and shop locations daily, with occasional overnight stays (paid).

Your Qualifications:

• Mechanical Skills – experience and knowledge of hand tools of all kinds (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers) and some basic power tools (drills) is required.
• Basic Computer Skills – ability to use laptops and other electronic devices (iPad, phone) proficiently is required.
• Experience in related industries is a plus (construction, automotive, manufacturing, warehouse, HVAC, electrical, maintenance, etc.). Hobbies related to mechanical, automotive, electrical, carpentry, etc. are relevant for the role.
