Service Station Systems, Inc. (SSS) is hiring a Service Technician in San Jose, CA. The role involves routine maintenance on fuel dispensers and related equipment, diagnostics on electrical and POS systems, and adherence to safety protocols.

You will drive to customer sites daily and may stay overnight as needed. We offer fully paid training and certifications, plus a company vehicle and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on fuel dispensers and associated equipment (Wayne, Gilbarco, etc.).
• Use hand tools and power tools for maintenance tasks and replacements.
• Troubleshoot and repair dispenser leaks, replace O-rings/gaskets, and service basic piping fixtures.
• Assist with tank monitoring, sump pumps, meters, and sensors; install/replace as needed.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues at dispensers or POS systems; measure voltage with meters.
• Follow safety protocols, document work, and update systems with laptop or iPad.

Job Details:

• $26-$28 an hour to start, with +$2-$3 an hour conditional increase within 12 months.
• Reports to: San Jose, CA location
• Shift: Sunday – Thursday (days) & Tuesday-Saturday (days)

Job Duties (Training is provided):

• Perform routine maintenance on fuel dispensers (Wayne, Gilbarco, etc.), including replacing nozzles and breakaway hoses.
• Use hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers) and power tools (drills) for maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and repair fuel dispenser leaks, such as leaking nozzles, pumps, valves. Replace O-rings, gaskets, and basic piping fixtures.
• Assist with tank monitoring and sump pump operations. Install or replace sump pumps.
• Perform pressure testing, replace meters, filters and faulty sensors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues at dispensers or Point of Sale (POS) systems. Replace electrical components and perform basic voltage measurements using a voltmeter/multimeter.
• Follow job documents and safety protocols, take detailed job notes and update relevant systems with laptop or ipad. Set up safety equipment and barricades as needed.
• Maintain a well-organized and fully stocked company vehicle, ensuring it is clean and functional.
• Drive to customer sites and shop locations daily, with occasional overnight stays (paid).

Your Qualifications:

• Mechanical Skills – experience and knowledge of hand tools of all kinds (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers) and some basic power tools (drills) is required.
• Basic Computer Skills – ability to use laptops and other electronic devices (iPad, phone) proficiently is required.
• Experience in related industries is a plus (construction, automotive, manufacturing, warehouse, HVAC, electrical, maintenance, etc.). Hobbies related to mechanical, automotive, electrical, carpentry, etc. are relevant for the role.
