Job summary

Flow Control Group is seeking a Service Technician to perform repairs and maintenance of rotating equipment, including pumps, gear boxes, valves, blowers, and vacuum pumps. Work may occur in our West Springfield, MA facility or at customer sites, with a focus on safety and quality.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, good communication with engineering and support teams, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Local travel is expected, with rare overnight travel.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a forklift and strong mechanical/problem-solving skills.
• Customer service and consultative skills with a strong work ethic.
• Verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate with engineering, technical support, sales, and management.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail; physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Travel locally with possible overnight travel.
• Commitment to OSHA compliance and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of rotating equipment (pumps, gear boxes, valves, blowers, vacuum pumps).
• Perform services at our West Springfield, MA facility or at customer sites.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Complete inspection and required paperwork; disassemble, sand blast, and paint as needed.
• Assist with pump removal/installation, shaft alignment, vibration analysis, lubrication, and related tasks.
• Document measurements and conditions; ensure repairs meet specifications.
• Adhere to OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
