About the Role

As a Field Service Technician, you will play a key role in the installation, maintenance, testing, retrofitting, and repair of medium- to high-voltage transformers and substation equipment. You will work independently or lead small crews at field sites, ensuring quality service and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site services including installation, repair, inspection, and testing of transformer equipment (4160V–765kV).
• Execute electrical testing such as power factor, insulation resistance, SFRA, TTR, and more (training provided for junior roles; required for senior techs).
• Support and/or lead crews on assignments for client sites.
• Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate reports and documentation when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in field service, high-voltage equipment, or transformer maintenance.
• Comfortable with hands-on electrical/mechanical work and working outdoors.
• Electrical testing experience a strong plus for advanced roles.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus.
• Travel is required; expect to be on the road 75–85% of the time, depending on the project.
