Job summary

SteelcoBelimed, Inc. seeks a Field Service Technician to travel to hospital sites in North Jersey within a 2–4 hour driving radius to install, service, and maintain equipment.

On-the-job training for 90 days and 3 weeks of classroom training at our Charleston, SC headquarters are provided. This remote, home-based role requires strong mechanical aptitude, excellent customer service, and the ability to travel extensively, including overnights during first 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience with industrial electrical single and 3-phase wiring and controls.
• Experience troubleshooting water and pneumatic process controls.
• Experience using diagnostic test equipment, volt-ohm meters, amp probes and calibration equipment.
• Ability to read and red-line P&ID and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions using test instruments.
• Measure and adjust digital and analog instrumentation using calibration equipment.
• Install, modify and repair SteelcoBelimed and/or 3rd party equipment.
• Manage customer base effectively; prioritize customer needs and balance PM workload with repairs.
• Demonstrate correct usage and application of equipment to customers.
• Conduct product in-service trainings as required.
• Complete service reports, timesheets, expense reports and parts lists timely and accurately.
• Maintain an organized work vehicle with tools, manuals and parts.
• Monitor customer chemical orders, contract sales and renewals.
• Promote and maintain good customer relations with professionalism and ethics.

Your responsibilities

As a Field Service Technician, you will travel to hospital sites to complete the installation, service, and maintenance of SteelcoBelimed products while providing excellent service to customers. This could be a great fit if you possess strong mechanical aptitude and excellent customer service skills! You may have experience as a/an: Automotive Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, HVAC Technician, Car Wash Technician, Machinist’s Mate, Boiler Technician, Generator Technician, Forklift Technician, Appliance or Equipment Repair Technician, etc.

Training: 90 days of on-the-job training in your region and 3 weeks of classroom training in your first year at our Charleston, SC headquarters

This is a remote, home-based position traveling within the North Jerseyregion and around a 2-4 hour driving radius of the area. Additional travel, including some overnights, during the first 90 days may be necessary for training purposes.

• Maintain an organized work vehicle with necessary tools, manuals and parts required to provide efficient repairs and installations
• Monitor customer chemical orders, contract sales and renewals
• Promote and maintain good customer relations through high standards of professionalism, ethical behavior, maturity and good judgment

Your profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience with industrial electrical single and 3-phase wiring and controls
• Experience troubleshooting water and pneumatic process controls
• Experience using diagnostic test equipment, volt-ohm meters, amp probes and precision temperature and pressure calibration equipment
• Ability to perform piping of copper, brass and stainless steel piping
• Ability to read and red-line P&ID and electrical schematics
• Moderate technical aptitude; general computer skills with the ability to communicate effectively via e-mail
• Ability to lift at least fifty pounds unassisted
• Ability to climb over and crawl under equipment
• Ability to travel extensively with little notice prior to travel
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as business need dictates
• Ability to maintain compliance of all credentialing requirements in order to access customer sites
