Job summary

Owen Companies is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide on-site technical support, diagnostics, and repairs for hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems across our equipment portfolio. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and minimize downtime for customers from Maryland to the Northeastern US.

Responsibilities include traveling to job sites, documenting service actions, and maintaining strong customer relationships while meeting OEM standards and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance and repair.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and ability to read schematics.
• Experience performing field service and working independently.
• Proficiency with basic computer functions for service reporting and communication.
• Must possess a personal set of hand tools and willingness to expand inventory.
• Valid driver’s license; able to obtain CDL if required for DOT purposes.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems.
• Assemble, install, and integrate electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components and wiring.
• Develop and execute repair plans to restore equipment to OEM specifications.
• Travel to customer sites for field service, diagnostics, and repairs (on-site and remote).
• Provide warranty support by evaluating claims and documenting service actions.
• Communicate repair status and recommendations clearly with customers and internal teams.
• Identify and source parts, manage work orders, and document labor and materials.
• Read diagrams and operate shop equipment safely; adhere to OSHA standards.
