Job summary

Otovo SRL is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage, and generators in Victorville, CA. The role involves hands-on electrical work, problem solving, and delivering excellent customer service.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure compliance with NEC/AHJ and utility requirements while traveling locally and working overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4+ years electrical experience required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to climb ladders and work on rooftops.
• Willingness to travel locally and work overtime as needed.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of NEC/AHJ/utility interconnection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on panels, wiring, inverters, and batteries.
• Commission new systems and upgrades in line with NEC/AHJ/utility requirements.
• Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters and thermal imagers.
• Maintain accurate service records and photos.
• Follow safety procedures including PPE and lockout/tagout.
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty repairs.
• Communicate system status and repair recommendations to customers.
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites.

Otovo is seeking a skilled and dependable Field Service Technician to join our growing renewable energy team in Victorville, CA. In this role, you'll service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, battery storage solutions, and generators.

This position is ideal for an experienced electrical professional who enjoys hands‑on technical work, solving complex problems, and delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the transition to clean energy.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout processes, and fall protection requirements
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty‑related repairs as needed
• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers regarding system status and repair recommendations
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites
