Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Patch Manager Field Systems Technologist (FST) for Navy ELMR to perform patching operations across Windows, RHEL, and related systems. This 100% on-site role is based at a military base in Catania, Sicily, Italy under SOFA, with US citizen requirement.

Travel up to 25% may be required to support enterprise maintenance. You will administer local and remote updates, support master and dispatch sites, and coordinate with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field; OR Associate's Degree with 4 years of specialized experience; OR High School Diploma with 8 years of specialized experience.
• Experience in IT systems administration and TCP/IP network administration.
• Ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within 6 months of employment.
• Ability to obtain ETA CETa certification within 6 months of employment.
• Demonstrated experience in Windows (10/Server), RHEL, and Active Directory administration.
• Hands-on experience with VMware and KVM-based virtualization suites and server hardware.
• Proficient TCP/IP networking and familiarity with PuTTY, WinSCP, Remote Desktop.
• Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and self-management skills.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suites.

Responsibilities

• Implement system and security patch updates as provided by Motorola ASTRO service.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot patching issues in a dynamic, high-stress environment on an Enterprise LMR network.
• Maintain extensive verbal and written communication.
• Assist Master Site FSTs and Engineering teams with daily maintenance across master sites, dispatch sites, and RF sites.
• Travel up to 25% annually to support enterprise system maintenance and regional patching efforts.
• Obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret-level security clearance (SF86).
