Job summary

GEA Germany GmbH in Wisconsin seeks a Project Engineer/Field Service Technician to install, service and support our industrial equipment for food, beverage, and pharma sectors. You will travel to customer sites for preventive maintenance, commissioning and training, and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues while delivering top-tier service.

The role requires a High School Diploma, 5+ years' mechanical equipment experience, heavy travel (up to 75%), and strong communication skills to explain

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with mechanical equipment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%.
  • Occasional 12-hour workdays may be required.
  • Weekend work availability as needed.
  • Ability to read schematics, diagrams and technical manuals.

  • Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical people.
  • Strong on-site organization and independence.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Travel to customer sites to perform preventive maintenance and emergency service Performs new machine installation, commissioning and customer training Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and communicate effectively with customers Ensures customer satisfaction through high quality service levels, prompt execution and customer follow up Acts in a professional, courteous and business-like manner to enhance the company in the market place.

Your Profile / Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • A minimum of 5 years working with mechanical equipment
  • Extensive Travel, up to 75%
  • Ability to work up to 12 hours at times
  • Availability for occasional weekend work
  • Understanding of Hand Tools and mechanical techniques
  • Computer Literate
  • Some technical writing skills
  • Ability to read Schematics, Diagrams and Technical manuals
  • Must be able to function well, in an unsupervised position
  • Must have a valid driver license
  • Must be able to discuss technically complex issues with non-technical people
  • Good organizational skills, particularly on site, are critical
  • A minimum of a High School education is required
