Job summary

Hiab USA, Inc. is seeking a field service technician to perform preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment on equipment at customer sites across Wisconsin, with the Oshkosh facility as a base and travel to Madison and surrounding areas.

This role requires 100% travel, a valid driver's license, DOT medical card, and a strong focus on safety, documentation, and customer satisfaction while upholding Hiab quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Must obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card.
  • Valid Driver’s License required; no more than one moving violation in the last year, or two in two years.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations.
  • Own tools required.
  • Willingness to travel 100%.
  • Know, understand and comply with Hiab USA, Inc. Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, service, and troubleshoot equipment per manager’s instructions (Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders & Hoists).
  • Follow applicable safety rules, practices and environmental requirements.
  • Stay up to date with technical bulletins and complete courses when instructed by District Service Manager.
  • Respond to customer queries and concerns to maximise customer satisfaction.
  • Keep adequate records, maintain documentation & submit daily reports as directed.
  • Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager.
  • Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary.
  • Conduct self to promote a positive Hiab brand image and follow Quality System.

Compensation Data

Salary ranges from $35.90-$41.75 per hour based on skills and experience.

Your mission

To perform service, (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on equipment, at external or Hiab locations in line with Manager’s instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships as well as following Best Practice in all administrative and technical activities.

The Hiab facility is located in Oshkosh, WI, however all field service work will be conducted in the Madison, WI and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities
  • Inspect, perform service, troubleshoot (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on the following equipment: Forklifts, Knuckle Boom Cranes, Loaders, Liftgates, Hooklifts, Skiploaders & Hoists in line with Manager’s instructions
  • Follow applicable safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
  • Staying up to date with technical developments as shown in internal service bulletins and completing technical courses when instructed by District Service Manager
  • Respond to customer’s queries and concerns to maximize customer satisfaction & follow Hiab Customer Satisfaction Guidelines
  • Keep adequate records, maintain documentation & submit daily reports in the format specified by the District Service Manager
  • Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager
  • Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary
  • Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the Hiab brand and follow rules of the Quality System
What we are looking for
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a 1-year DOT Medical Card is required for this position
  • Valid Driver’s License is required
    • No more than one moving violation in the last year, or two violations within a two year time frame. All violations will be reviewed
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • 5+ years of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical operations
  • Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Own tools required
  • Know, understand and comply with Hiab USA, Inc. Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
  • This position requires 100% travel
