Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to service diesel and heavy equipment across diverse sites in Texas, including Harlingen. You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support field operations in a fast-paced environment.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of mechanic experience, plus a valid driver's license. Competitive benefits and a safety-first team culture are offered.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment/large-scale gensets etc. strongly preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (21+; CDL may be required in some locations).

Road Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Develop new skills for a career track in service or operation management

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired
• 3-5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record (21 years of age & CDL license may be required in some locations)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• May need to provide mechanic's tools of trade
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.

Pay

Base Pay Range: $22.85 - 31.41 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
