Job description

To support customers with (but not limited to) Amada Lasers in the Buena Park, CA territory and surrounding cities. This includes installation, service, operational training, networking, programming training, software training, application training, and laser automation training. The duties are not exclusive of performing the same functions for Punch Press and combination machines, including automated material loading/unloading machines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, control systems as well as networks.
• Able to precisely follow layout drawings and blueprints used in the installation of equipment.
• Complete status (service) reports daily and expense reports weekly.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Maintain excellent customer relations and follow through.
• Manage the total equipment installation process at the customer site, including use of hand tools, climbing, bending, and stooping.
• Operate, apply, and program software, and train customers on such.
• Use of Amada applications software in line control and part programming.
• Travel regularly within assigned territories.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

• Reports to Regional Service Manager.

SUBORDINATE STAFF:

None

KNOWLEDGE:

• Preferably a 4-year degree in Electronics or at least a 2-year degree with related work experience.

SKILLS:

• Ability to analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical, and electrical systems.
• Proficient in using hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter, and Oscilloscope.
• Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Responsible and accountable for supporting customers throughout machine ownership.

TRAVEL:

• Routine travel within assigned territories, with occasional overnight stays.
• Territory: Buena Park, CA, and surrounding areas.

PAY RATE: $30.00 - $33.00/hour
