Job description

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The individual is responsible for performing calibration and preventative maintenance (PM) on basic industrial weighing equipment (e.g., floor and bench scales) independently within the respective Business Area. May assist others with installations, projects, and repairs as needed.

  • Performs basic end-user training.
  • Conducts calibrations and preventative maintenance according to METTLER TOLEDO procedures and customer requirements.
  • Assists and cooperates with Scheduling Analysts and the Service Support Team as necessary.
  • Proactively promotes and sells service and products; submitting sales leads appropriate to experience level.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Completes and submits all required paperwork professionally via company-issued Laptop PC daily.
  • Maintains professional relationships with customers, sales, technicians, and leaders.
  • Completes Kronos timekeeping daily, entering activity punches as they occur.
  • Fosters collaboration and teamwork with field and support colleagues.
  • Complies with the Company Fleet policy.
  • Submits Weights & Measures paperwork to authorities timely.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, or 5 years relevant experience in engineering, electronics, instrumentation, technology, or computer science, or equivalent technical support experience.
  • Associate's degree (AA) in a technical major or equivalent preferred.
  • Customer-facing or field service experience preferred; commercial experience desired.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair, PC networking, and software configuration.
  • 1-3 years electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDL and Weights & Measures license; failure to do so may result in employment termination.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to learn proprietary METTLER TOLEDO software.
  • Willingness to travel overnight up to 25%, primarily via company vehicle or plane.
  • Residence within the service territory.
  • Willingness to work overtime (~10-15%, up to 25%).
  • Willing to be exposed to site hazards, chemicals, dust, cold, fumes, and wear protective gear as required.

This position is safety-sensitive and subject to drug testing, including DOT regulations and physical exams.
