Job Description - REQ 1035 - FS Technician III - Denver, CO

IMPORTANT: In order to qualify for this position, you must have experience commissioning (Level 1-4) LV/MV Electrical Switchgear. Network Switches/Routers/Telecom/IT switches are not Electrical Switchgear.

IEM (Industrial Electric Mfg.) is the largest independent full-line manufacturer of custom electrical distribution and power quality equipment in North America. IEM delivers customer-specific solutions to meet the evolving power requirements of growth industries worldwide. This position offers an exciting opportunity within an innovative, growing company with a backlog of bookings extending beyond 3 years.

Purpose of Position:

This role involves directly commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining IEM and non-IEM products. It is based in locations without a service office or production facility, requiring independence and experience working at customer sites on power products.

Essential Functions:

1. Provide product/field service expertise for complex power and control systems.
2. Travel to customer sites for commissioning, independently or leading a team to meet deadlines.
3. Participate in or lead training exercises at manufacturing or field service offices; attend factory witness/shop testing.
4. Attend site meetings and walk-throughs.
5. Identify project risks and safety concerns affecting success or safety.
6. Assist with project start-up, resolve punch list items, and work with Project Managers to ensure proper project closure.
7. Report quality issues to manufacturing, collaborate to resolve deficiencies.
8. Coordinate with Field Service Lead for scheduling resources.
9. Lead or supervise commissioning on large projects, mentoring junior engineers or technicians as needed.
10. Complete timekeeping, field service reports, and expense reports promptly.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervision of Personnel:

When leading a site requiring additional commissioning resources, direct work of junior technicians or team members.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 3-5 years related industry experience.
• Understanding hazards associated with LV/MV commissioning; safety-conscious approach.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and customer engagement.
• Up to 70% travel; deployments beyond 100 miles from base not exceeding 2 weeks.

Compensation:

Overtime applies.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40.50 - $59.00/hour
