Role Summary

The Field Service Technician III will be responsible for overdelivering on the internal and external customer experience at our service locations. The ideal candidate will possess the technical acumen and the ability to provide a strong level of customer service. If you're able to think quickly on your feet, have a go-getter attitude, possess great communication skills, and have a passion for adventure, then we want you on the team. You will work with internal partners daily to assist with service needs and coordinate with Service, Vehicle, Delivery Operations, and Field Service Engineer teams. This role requires a dynamic, resourceful leader with excellent communication skills, who fosters cross-functional interaction and promotes continuous improvement to support our Service teams and customers. Success in this role demands a customer-first approach, adaptability in ambiguous environments, and a creative, flexible mindset. Experience in automotive, process standardization, continuous improvement, and managing escalations is advantageous.

Responsibilities
  1. Follow Rivian repair procedures efficiently without compromising quality and safety.
  2. Perform or assist with diagnosis, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles.
  3. Support vehicle repairs outside of a service center setting.
  4. Conduct road tests to ensure repair quality.
  5. Manage parts operations including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory.
  6. Stay updated with technical skills and training requirements.
  7. Support campaigns and containment initiatives.
  8. Maintain accurate expense reports.
  9. Work with high quality and efficiency with minimal supervision.
  10. Collaborate with team members in a dynamic environment.
  11. Provide field service support to the Service organization.
  12. Communicate professionally in a customer-facing environment.
  13. Document repairs properly.
  14. This role may transition from remote to on-site work at a nearby service center within 90 miles or 2 hours.
  15. Travel to support locations as required until local Service Centers open, including production plants.
  16. Operate remotely until local service centers are operational, if applicable.
Qualifications
  1. HS Diploma or GED preferred.
  2. Graduation from an accredited automotive repair school preferred.
  3. 5+ years’ experience in automotive repair preferred.
  4. Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  5. Comfortable with using a laptop or computer in Windows or Mac environments.
  6. Basic diagnosis and workflow knowledge.
  7. Ability to read electrical schematics.
  8. Limited diagnostic experience.
  9. Understanding of high and low voltage electricity (basic theory).
  10. Ability to perform tire repair and vehicle alignment.
  11. Hybrid repair experience is a plus.
  12. Ability to diagnose and explain vehicle electronic communications like CAN Bus.
  13. Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  14. Some travel may be required.
  15. Parts department and billing experience preferred.
  16. Experience with work order management systems.
  17. Experience in start-up environments preferred.
  18. Patience and eagerness to learn.
  19. Positive attitude in difficult situations.
  20. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  21. Physical ability to perform occupational tasks up to 50 lbs.
  22. Fluent English communication skills.
  23. Minimum age of 21.
  24. Availability for 40 hours/week, including weekends and holidays, with shifts possibly in evenings, overnights, or early mornings.
Pay Disclosure

Hourly Rate for Colorado Based Applicants: Min:$31.84 Mid:$35.38 Max:$36.44
