Job summary

Technical Safety Services (TSS) is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform hands-on refrigeration diagnosis and repair, primarily in our Boston-area shop with occasional customer-site support. You’ll work independently in the field, build strong customer relationships, and advance your technical skills through hands-on training and mentorship.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of refrigeration experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Five years of hands-on refrigeration diagnosis and repair experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree is a plus.
• Technical school education and Massachusetts hot work refrigeration certifications.
• Familiarity with low temperature or cascade refrigeration preferred.
• Background in customer service and some mechanical or electrical experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technical work.
• Good communication, basic math skills, and comfort using Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair refrigeration equipment, primarily in the shop, with occasional service at customer facilities.
• Work directly with clients to understand their needs, communicate clearly, and ensure the job is done right.
• Complete reports and required paperwork on time to keep projects on track and clients updated.

Your Day-to-Day Environment

• This position is primarily shop-based in the Boston area, with occasional field support at customer facilities.
• You will perform hands‑on refrigeration troubleshooting and repairs, communicate service findings, and document completed work.

What You'll Bring
