Job summary

Ring Power Corporation is seeking a Service Field Technician II to diagnose, repair, and maintain Caterpillar equipment across assigned jobs in a safety-focused environment. You will use manufacturer specifications to service mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems while maintaining tools and documentation.

The role requires 3-4 years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to train and mentor teammates, with a focus on safety and cost control in daily operations.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 3-4 years of experience.
  • Valid Driver License.
  • Successfully completed all required training curriculum to be designated Service Field Tech II.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products and relevant Dealer software programs.
  • Updating of knowledge through re-training as requirements change.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, disassemble and assemble components to manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform designated repairs on equipment including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain tools and pursue safety and quality standards.
  • Document repairs and track repair times using appropriate software.
  • Monitor job expenses versus estimates and report overruns to supervisor.
  • Train and mentor others in the department.

Primary Job Role

Conducts all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental and contamination control policies, procedures and regulations. Wears proper personal protective equipment. Attends and successfully completes required technician training classes. Maintains necessary set of tools required for job performance to diagnose, disassemble and assemble components to manufacturer's specifications. Diagnose and perform designated repairs on customer or company owned equipment including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs. Works in a neat and orderly fashion, constantly looking for ways of improving the methods of work, work area, and safety standards. Inspects components to insure maximum parts are being reused to control repair costs. Completes required documentation utilizing appropriate software to document repairs performed on equipment, and accounting for repair times. Monitors job expenses versus repair estimates and ensures that the supervisor is aware of any cost over run, prior to the job being completed. Approaches work in a positive manner, maintains conduct that is supportive of the work Team and sets the standard for others to follow. Contributes to Team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations. Trains and/or mentors others in department. Performs other duties as assigned.
