About This Opportunity

The Field Service Technician II will respond to the needs of GFS customers by performing duties related to start-up, training, service calls, maintenance, and repair of paint booths and related equipment. Provide quality data to improve products and processes.

This role involves providing outstanding customer service by installing, conducting training & start-ups, responding to service calls, performing electrical and mechanical maintenance, and repairing all makes and models of finishing equipment for the auto refinishing industry. It also includes conducting customer hands-on and classroom training.

Responsibilities

• Test, repair, install, and modify mechanical and electrical equipment, including programming VFDs and process controllers.
• Work from blueprints, drawings, schematics, or other specifications to diagnose and repair systems; create as-built documents after modifications.
• Operate diagnostic testing equipment to gather data for troubleshooting.
• Conduct customer training sessions, both classroom and hands-on, on operation and maintenance of GFS equipment.
• Communicate ideas for equipment improvements to GFS design and engineering departments.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree with 4+ years of technical experience; relevant experience may substitute for education.
• HVAC experience, specifically with electrical and control wiring, preferred.
• Experience in auto refinish industry is a plus but not required.
• Ability to modify electrical, mechanical, and air diffusion systems.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally and occasionally overnight.
