Job summary

MEPPI's Service Center Division seeks a Field Service Technician – HVAC to provide on-site service, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC products and electro-mechanical equipment. You will install, maintain, test, and support customers to ensure reliable operation of cooling systems.

The role requires 2–5 years of HVAC troubleshooting experience, EPA 608 certification, and strong communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in HVAC, Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field with 2–5 years of troubleshooting/repair experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of HVAC systems through hands-on experience or formal training.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site service, startup, maintenance, and repair of HVAC products and electro-mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot HVAC/electro-mechanical equipment using drawings, schematics, and test equipment.
• Install, test, and repair equipment; provide customer support and field service.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation of services performed.
• Communicate with customers and colleagues to ensure service quality.

Powering Critical Infrastructure: Deliver Expert Service for Advanced HVAC Systems with MEPPI!

MEPPI's Service Center Division (SCD) is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician – HVAC to provide service support, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC products and electro-mechanical equipment. In this role, you'll work directly with customers to perform installations, maintenance, testing, repairs, and technical support while helping ensure reliable operation of critical cooling systems.

What You'll Do

Deliver Expert Field Service

• Perform on-site customer service for IT Cooling products, including startup service, preventative and remedial maintenance, field modifications, and testing.
• Perform field support and assistance with power equipment projects as required.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration and electro-mechanical equipment using schematics, mechanical drawings, procedures, troubleshooting documents, and hand-held and computer-based test equipment.
• Perform repairs or equipment replacements as necessary.
• Evaluate, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC electrical, control systems, and engineering products.
• Perform refrigerant system repair work, including leak detection, refrigerant reclamation, evacuation, and R410A charging.
• Perform refrigerant-related tasks such as reclaiming, measuring, charging, pressure testing, and evacuating HVAC units.

Be the Customer Connection

• Provide technical support to internal and external customers, including third-party service organizations and end users.
• Schedule technical sales and service support based on customer needs.
• Schedule and provide emergency technical support and field service on an on-call basis.

Inspect & Evaluate Equipment

Inspect and test returned products, components, and systems to determine defects and operational status.

Maintain Technical Documentation

• Maintain accurate service records and documentation of services provided.
• Prepare required documentation related to installation, testing, repair, and customer support.
• Submit accurate expense reports in a timely manner in accordance with Company policies.

Represent MEPPI Professionally

• Conduct business with MEPPI departments, customers, and suppliers in a timely and cooperative manner.
• Further the goals and positive image of the Division through professional customer and business relationships.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

• Associate's Degree in HVAC, Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field with 2–5 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems, or equivalent education and experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of HVAC systems gained through experience or successful completion of technical training courses.

Certifications

EPA Section 608 certification.

Technical Knowledge

• Advanced knowledge and proficiency with mechanical and electronic test equipment.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and bills of materials.

Skills

• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and vendors.
• Intermediate computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products, timekeeping systems, and expense reporting systems.
