Job summary

Enerflex Ltd. seeks a Controls designer with background in drafting Control Panel and Junction Box Layouts and developing detail ladder wiring diagrams from P&ID and engineering sketches. The role includes field service, installation, and commissioning of power generation equipment at onshore and offshore locations, with travel and on-call duties.

The candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality in every task.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ power generation field service experience.
• Valid driver's license with the ability and willingness to drive long distances.
• Ability to lead, direct, motivate and supervise team members.
• Knowledge of engine and generator operations; Jenbacher, Waukesha, Cat experience is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; well organized.

Responsibilities

• Represent Enerflex professionally and provide outstanding customer service.
• Submit accurate field service reports, expense reports, timesheets daily.
• Repair and maintain electric generators, switchgear, electronic controls, diesel and gas engines including LPG.
• Perform field service, repairs and installation of customer equipment.
• Lead field technicians and provide basic leadership and training.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
• Position may require onshore and offshore locations; on-call rotation.
• Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental rules at each location.

Job description

Enerflex requires a Controls designer with background in drafting Control Panel and Junction Box Layouts and developing detail ladder wiring diagrams from P&ID (Pipe and Instrumentation Diagrams), engineering sketches, specifications and/or vendor drawings.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

• Represents the company in a professional manner at all times while providing outstanding customer service that aligns with Enerflex visions and values.
• Responsible for submitting accurate field service reports, expense reports, timesheets and other necessary paperwork daily.
• Repairs and maintains electric generators, switchgear, electronic controls, diesel and gas engines including LPG.
• Performs field service, repairs and installation of customers’ equipment.
• Operate Company service vehicle and applicable equipment to include lift trucks.
• Maybe requested at times to perform in shop service or repairs on customers’ equipment when applicable.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose customer complaints to determine the most effective or efficient repair using test equipment, electronic volt-ohm meter, megometer, battery and starting analyzer, load banks, and trade tools.
• Perform routine Level 1, 2 and 3 scheduled maintenance and inspection according to manufacturer’s specification including removal of generator/engine set for repair or replacement.
• Position will consist of onshore and offshore locations.
• Hook up rental generators following all applicable local, state, and federal codes, regulations and safety guidelines.
• Troubleshooting machinery / equipment
• Installation and commissioning of new packages
• Supervise the maintenance & installation of packages as required
• Responsible for providing basic leadership and training to new Field Technicians.
• Maintain and develop positive professional relationships with existing and potential customers
• Be available to participate in on call rotation for after hour calls as required
• Must recognize and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental rules and policies that are applicable to each location.

• Possess a well-rounded knowledge of engine, generator, and operations; experience with Jenbacher, Waukesha, and Cat considered an asset.

• Clean drivers abstract must be provided at time of hire

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly/frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and Infrequently/occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
