Job summary

Alma Lasers is seeking a Field Service Technician II to travel across the continental United States, with an East Coast focus and Central U.S. coverage as needed.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain Alma equipment at customer sites and provide Level 2 support by phone when required. The ideal candidate has an associate degree in electrical repair and 4+ years of field service experience, along with experience reading diagrams and using meters for calibration.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in electrical or electronic repair or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of field service experience.
• Experience with component-level repair preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning medical instruments.
• Repair equipment after diagnosis.
• Read diagrams and schematics to perform full board swaps as needed.
• Test machines after repair to ensure proper functionality.
• Maintain and complete all repair documentation paperwork.
• Provide Level 2 support via phone to customers and internal employees.
• Abide by company safety and health policies.
• Low voltage electrical repair, using multimeter, oscilloscope, and other hand tools to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Set appointments to perform preventive maintenance, service calls, and installations.
• Work closely with the Client Relations team to resolve customer issues.
• Perform device calibration using specified test equipment such as power meters.
• Mentor and aid other field service personnel.
• Develop troubleshooting documents for our Client Relations team.

Field Service Technician II - East Coast US

Remote Position - Primarily Covering the East Coast, with Central U.S. Coverage as Needed

This position will primarily support customers throughout the East Coast, with travel to the Central United States as business needs require.

We are seeking candidates who live in or near the following locations:

• New York
• New Jersey

Hourly Rate

$42-$46 per hour, commensurate with experience

Eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and state laws.

Summary

The primary responsibility of the Field Service Technician II is to travel to customer sites throughout the continental United States with East Coast focus and provide repairs to Alma Lasers equipment and complete Preventative Maintenance as scheduled. This position will sometimes provide level two technical trouble shooting with customers via phone.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct reports but assists in mentoring peers and other departments as needed.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment as well as medical offices in the field. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position also utilizes hand tools and electrical meters.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Travel

This position requires 75-90% travel as needed. This position will primarily support customers throughout the East Coast, with travel to the Central United States as business needs require.
