Position Overview

We are seeking a Field Service Technician II with strong experience in digital cutting systems

and finishing workflows. This individual will install, maintain, and service a variety of cutting

systems across the U.S. and Canada, while delivering exceptional technical support and training

to customers in signage, packaging, display production, and related industries.

Key Responsibilities

● Install Summa and related digital cutting systems at customer sites ensuring proper functionality.

● Conduct preventive maintenance and repair on vinyl, flatbed, and laser cutters.

● Troubleshoot and diagnose complex electrical, mechanical, and software issues.

● Provide hands-on training and technical support to customers on site and remotely.

● Maintain accurate documentation of service visits, diagnostics, and repairs.

● Stay current with Summa technologies, workflow trends, and finishing processes.

● Collaborate with internal teams to report customer feedback and technical findings.

● Follow all safety protocols at customer sites and while handling equipment.

Qualifications

● Associate degree or certification in a relevant technical field preferred.

● 3–5 years of field service or equipment maintenance experience.

● Familiarity with digital cutting systems and workflows.

● Hands-on experience working with materials such as vinyl, foam board, ACM, textiles, corrugated substrates, cardboard, rubber, and acrylic.

● Background in signage, packaging, sample making, or display production.

● Proficient in software such as Flexi, RIPs, and CAD for packaging/sample design.

● Comfortable with on-site equipment installation, independent troubleshooting, and customer training.

● Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.

● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

● Ability to travel 60–75%, including overnight trips across the U.S. and Canada.

● Must reside near a major airport.

● Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
