Job Description

This position requires daily travel to locations in and around the Milwaukee area, including the airport.

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :

  • Responsible for meeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains equipment in the field; provides customer training as required.
  • Documents all inspections, maintenance, and repair work; submits paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Orders, installs, and returns parts; manages repair parts cycle time.
  • Reviews all logs for open issues and prepares formal reports for customers as necessary.
  • Participates in service sales opportunities and helps promote revenue programs.
  • Ensures tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Assesses product/equipment performance based on field support data; recommends modifications or improvements.
  • Provides technical support to customers and service professionals as needed.
  • May participate in site surveys, pilot program activities, and attend meetings.
  • Possesses basic technical knowledge of the company’s Trace and X-Ray technologies.
  • Maintains clear and concise communication, both oral and written.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with senior FSEs and Product Managers to support customer needs and stay updated on technical trends.
  • Exercises measures to control and minimize costs.
  • Travel, overtime, and work hours outside Monday-Friday may be required.
  • Complies with company health, safety, environmental policies, and all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education/Training:

Associate’s Degree, related trade certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical), military training, or equivalent work experience (1-3 years) in electrical or mechanical field service. Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office Suite and specialized software.

Experience: 1-3 years of troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment.

Knowledge/Skills: Excellent communication skills, customer focus, teamwork, responsiveness, and willingness to travel at short notice.

Supervises: Not primary, but may supervise others on a project basis.

Background: Requires Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access and TSA vetting; must pass a federal background check.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask.
  • Strong customer service skills and stress management.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, accountable.
  • Excellent telephone skills.
  • Ability to lift/carry 80 lbs., push/pull 200 lbs., and move equipment up to 1000 lbs. with assistance.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and working in unusual positions.
  • Ability to work safely in extreme environments around industrial equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Typically at customer locations such as airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships, or other sites. May require SSI access and U.S. security clearance.
