The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician (I&E Tech) is located in Odessa, TX. This is a Monday through Friday position with on-call responsibilities nights and weekends, if needed. This is a great opportunity if you are an experienced Industrial Electrician, Electrical and Controls Technician, Electrical and Instrumentation Technician (E&I Tech), Electrical Technician, Instruments and Electric Tech, or similar.

Job Summary: Analyzes, troubleshoots, implements, improves, and maintains electrical power circuits and equipment. Maintains and upgrades control and automation systems and instrumentation, electronic, and pneumatic equipment used in pump stations, water plant operations, and measurement facilities.

Key Characteristics:

  1. Duties include installing, inspecting, maintaining, operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating various mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic equipment.
  2. Perform preventative maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drives, and auxiliary equipment.
  3. Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
  4. Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  5. Mentor and train employees when the opportunity presents itself.
  6. Maintain electrical switch gear and power distribution.
  7. Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all tools and equipment as needed.
  8. Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties.
  9. Stay up to date on Operations Qualifications and required training.
  10. Weekly or daily travel to operating sites.
  11. Interface and communicate with customers and suppliers as required.
  12. Complies with company safety and quality policies and code of conduct.

Duties & Responsibilities: Must be able to respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies (within 1 hour) during and after regular business hours.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Proficient with electronic test instruments and measurement devices.
  2. Knowledge and experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams.
  3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications such as Excel & Word.
  4. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
  5. Experience working with water treatment equipment is a plus.
  6. Ability to work with a team and coordinate work schedules.
  7. Demonstrates a high attention to detail and is able to follow work processes, standards, and requirements.
  8. Must be able to work from elevated platforms, excavated areas, ladders, stairwells, walkways, etc.
  9. Knowledge of simple programming and PLC software preferred.
  10. Knowledge of Allen Bradley hardware and software preferred.
  11. Must be able to respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies (within 1 hour) during and after regular business hours.

Required:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
