Description

Position Overview: The Field Service Technician I provides field support to clients, including commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, and retrofits of mechanical and electrical systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, documenting procedures, and interfacing with various departments and client personnel.

The technician also assists in monitoring Quality Assurance, compiles O&M information, and participates in commissioning activities. Cross-training in controls and electrical systems is required.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Compile and transmit O&M information during projects
  • Assist in finalizing IOM manuals
  • Field feedback and creating 'red-line' drawings
  • Lead field commissioning and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Coordinate with project and client teams
  • Support assembly and training efforts
  • Participate in QA/QC functions
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Skills
  • Ability to read drawings and schematics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Project
  • Experience with PLCs or Building Controls
  • Ability to work independently on-site
Education & Training
  • HVAC trade school or apprenticeship preferred
  • Military or technical experience considered
Minimum Requirements
  • Significant project field experience in construction support, startup, repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of compliance with relevant codes (ASHRAE, ASME, etc.)
  • Willingness to travel extensively
  • Ability to work in field conditions
  • Safety certifications (OSHA10, NFPA-70E) or ability to obtain
  • Good driving record
Physical Requirements/Work Environment

80% travel; physical ability to lift and move objects; perform physical activities; visual acuity for data analysis and operation; inside environmental conditions.
