Job summary

PALFINGER is seeking an experienced Field Service Mechanic to service customers' truck-mounted equipment in the field. This remote position is based in Hartford, CT, reporting to the Regional Field Service Manager.

You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and emergency service with a strong emphasis on safety and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• 3 years of mechanical experience or training with cranes and forklifts.
• English language proficiency (read, write, speak).
• Valid CDL license or willingness to obtain within 60 days.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs+ and work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform field repairs and troubleshooting of articulating cranes, truck-mounted equipment and related systems.
• Carry out quarterly preventive maintenance and annual DOT inspections.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during working and non-working hours.
• Communicate mechanical issues and needed repairs to job site and fleet managers.
• Maintain timely service documentation including estimates, work orders, parts, labor and inventory records.
• Comply with state and federal safety regulations and keep work areas clean.

PALFINGER is searching for an experienced Field Service Mechanic to work in the field to service Palfinger's customer's truck-mounted equipment. This is a remote position in Hartford, CT. This position reports to the Regional Field Service Manager.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform field repairs and troubleshooting of articulating cranes, truck-mounted forklifts, conveyors, trucks and trailers while using a high degree of independent judgment.


• Perform quarterly preventive maintenance per customer schedule and Annual DOT inspections and warranty service.


• Provide emergency/unscheduled troubleshooting and repairs during working and non-working hours.


• Able to communicate mechanical issues and needed repairs to the job site and/or fleet managers.


• Responsible for service documentation in a timely manner that consists of but not limited to; estimates, work order authorization, ordering and recording parts, labor, and inventory documentation.


• Comply with state and federal safety regulations.


• Maintain clean and orderly company vehicle and job site equipment and work areas.

Your Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, troubleshooting diagnostics and welding.


• Must be physically able to work in all weather conditions. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, squat, crouch, reach and lift 75lbs+ for extended periods.


• 3 years of mechanical experience or training with emphasis in the area of articulating cranes and forklifts.


• Must speak, read and write English.


• Must have a valid CDL driver’s license or willing to obtain one within 60 days of employment.


• Supply own tools. PALFINGER proprietary tools will be provided.
