Job summary

Matheson Tri-Gas is seeking a field technician to repair, service and maintain engine-driven generators and electric welding machines while ensuring a safe working environment. Wage is presented as $0–$25/hr, and responsibilities include ordering parts, inspecting equipment, and performing on-site calibrations.

The role requires knowledge of welding processes, equipment setup, welding gases and wires, with potential off-site work and strong communication across branch teams.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education equivalent to a one year Technical College or equivalent is an asset.
• Three years of related technical experience.
• Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding application and equipment is an asset.
• Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Replaces defective parts and completes preventative maintenance required.
• Orders parts as required to complete repairs.
• Inspects returned equipment for proper operation and/or damage by the customer.
• Ensures clean and organized work environment at all times.
• Prepares and completes paperwork for all machine repairs.
• Occasionally required to service equipment and customers off-site.
• Maintains communication with all branch personnel.
• Occasionally advises customers regarding best equipment for their projects.
• Performs troubleshooting of machines, calibrations on-site and off-site.
