Job summary

Delta Natural Gas Co., Inc., an Essential Utilities company, seeks a field operations helper to assist in planning customer service activities, maintain paperwork, operate vehicles and equipment, attend trainings, and support customer representatives.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3 years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and plastic fusion qualifications; candidates must be able to work in varied conditions and travel to sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning branch activities in customer service operations, maintenance, odorization, safety procedures, merchandising and new business activities.
• Prepare paperwork accurately: time reports, service calls, damage prevention forms, work orders, leak reports, material usage and vehicle reports.
• Operate and/or maintain vehicles, equipment, tools and ensure upkeep of vehicles, equipment, office, shop and storage areas.
• Attend schools, trainings and seminars to fulfill job responsibilities as needed.
• Assist Customer Representatives when workload requires it.
• May supervise branch activities in absence of Supervisor, Gas Operations, or supervise up to 6 staff; liaise with customers, PSC staff, builders and contractors.
