Primary Responsibilities As Field Service Technician/Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Install and commission instruments at customer sites, ensuring users benefit from our technology right from the start.
  • Deliver comprehensive operation and software training, empowering customers to use equipment safely and effectively.
  • Perform field repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize productivity for our clients.
  • Provide prompt phone and e-mail support, addressing customer issues with efficiency and professionalism.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships, enhancing Microtrac’s reputation as a trusted partner.
  • Accurately document service visits and maintain clear records, supporting continuous improvement and compliance.
  • Adhere to company policies and standards, ensuring service excellence and safety at every step.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Engineering or a Technical discipline is part of your qualifications.
  • You bring at least 3 years’ experience servicing or repairing laboratory instruments in field settings.
  • Your technical foundation includes knowledge of optical, mechanical, electronics, and computer systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills help you succeed in customer-facing roles.
  • Diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, even under pressure, is a strength.
  • Documentation and reporting are handled with attention to detail.
  • Self-management, multitasking, and effective time management are second nature to you.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% domestically, with easy access to major airports.
