Job summary

Plug Power Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician-Southwire in Douglasville, GA. This non-exempt (hourly) role supports fuel cell products installed in electric lift trucks, performing preventative maintenance and resolving breakdowns at a specific location.

The technician will install and service fuel cells, report breakdowns, order parts, and maintain fuel cell systems. Travel may be required, and a strong emphasis on safety and customer interaction is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical coursework.
• Three (3) or more years of direct experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Must possess a valid driver license, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
• Knowledge of lift truck operation and applications is highly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
• Provide own standard set of tools – specific fuel cell tools to be provided by Plug Power.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and service of fuel cells at customer sites.
• Performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to maintain the fleet at a specific location.
• Performing specialized service procedures, including field retrofits and software and hardware upgrades to existing fuel cells.
• Providing on-call and emergency support service to customers as required.
• Purchasing tools, equipment, and parts for customer service and support as required.
• Travel as required for business needs; expected to drive safely and to adhere to all traffic laws.
• Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions.
• Exhibiting and enforcing safety procedures in the field or customer sites.
• Completing administrative duties & documentation, including: incident reports, service logs, inventory maintenance and site and system documentation.

This person will be responsible for the installation and servicing of fuel cells at a specific location. This person will also be responsible for reporting breakdown events, parts ordering and maintenance of fuel cells at a specific location.
