What To Expect
Do you have a passion for accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy? As a Commercial Field Service Technician, you will report to the Field Manager and provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, preventive, and corrective maintenance services to Tesla’s energy products including but not limited to: Commercial solar PV systems, Batteries such as Powerpacks and Megapacks, and Electric vehicle Charging Stations.

The Field Energy Operations team is responsible for the ongoing success of Tesla’s energy products. As part of our team, you will work across the entire Tesla organization to solve problems and ensure the success of our Commercial Energy field service execution. Collaborating with Field Service Technicians, Electricians, Environment and Operations personnel, Health and Safety, and Field Service Leadership teams, you will leverage your hands-on knowledge to ensure a positive customer experience and exceptional performance of Tesla’s Commercial products.

What You'll Do

1. Perform preventive maintenance on commercial inverters to maintain warranty coverage.
2. Respond to corrective maintenance cases on solar PV, energy storage systems, vehicle charging stations, and update online case logs.
3. Attend inverter training sessions to demonstrate outstanding performance.
4. Collaborate with the Operations Engineering Systems Reliability team to respond to open case directions and provide data as needed.
5. Write reports to comply with deliverables in commercial O&M contracts.
6. Address customer concerns regarding system performance or functionality.
7. Maintain the vehicle, tools, electronics, software, and company property in good condition.

What You'll Bring

1. Electrical trades experience troubleshooting power electronics and low voltage controls.
2. Experience with power/hand tools, electrical equipment, isolation meters, and multimeters.
3. Ability to navigate multiple computer applications and technologies independently.
4. Willingness to travel daily and up to 2 weeks at a time with short notice.
5. Flexibility to work weekends, overtime, and overnight stays to support Tesla’s mission.
6. Ability to work at heights, in extreme environments, perform repetitive duties, and lift at least 50 pounds.
7. Valid driver’s license.

Expected Compensation

1. Technician I, Energy - $24.95 - $37.43/hour
2. Technician II, Energy - $28.65 - $42.97/hour

Plus cash and stock awards, benefits for all levels. Compensation may vary based on location, experience, and other factors. Details will be provided upon offer.
