Candidates hired for this role will receive a $4,500 sign-on bonus, payable after 90 days of continuous service. They will also be eligible for our Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems on various types of heavy equipment to make necessary repairs.
- Use knowledge of hydraulics and electronics to diagnose issues.
- Operate hand tools and equipment safely.
- Order necessary parts for repairs.
- Complete required paperwork accurately.
- Ensure all functions are correct and check for leaks and loose fittings.
- Verify that tolerances and torque specifications are met.
- Test pressures and record results on test sheets.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding job issues.
- Assist in scheduling daily tasks and promote future work to meet utilization goals.
- Interact directly with customers and communicate effectively.
- Recommend procedural or operational improvements.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Must meet FMCSA requirements to operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of hydraulics, electrical systems, and equipment functions.
- Knowledge of basic hydraulics and 12-volt electrical systems.
- Ability to work with wiring stop/start systems and use programming tools.
- Knowledge of fittings and hydraulic hoses.
- Ability to operate saws for cutting steel, plasma cutters, and oxygen/acetylene torches.
- Ability to adjust pressures and relief valves.
- Basic math skills and ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Practical experience or education in hydraulics, structural, or mechanical layout.
- High mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems in the truck industry.
- Technical college degree or successful completion of structured on-the-job training.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in heavy equipment field service.
