Job description

JCI Industries is looking for a Field Service Technician to join our team in Lee’s Summit, MO!

As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of rotating equipment (e.g., pumps and motors) at various customer sites in the area.

What You’ll Do:

• Remove and install new rotating equipment.
• Perform maintenance activities on rotating equipment, including equipment alignments.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Tier 1 products at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair <480V motors at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical problems and perform motor insulation tests.
• Operate and maintain a service truck, including maintenance, repairs, tooling, and inventory management.
• Maintain necessary driving logs.
• Complete safety documentation and identify jobsite hazards.
• Communicate effectively with customers.
• Document each assignment, including pictures.
• Engage in continued education and training to meet industry needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

• 3+ years of experience in maintenance and repair of rotating equipment (e.g., submersibles, aerators, blowers, mixers, motors <480V).
• Valid Driver’s License with ability to obtain Missouri Class E CDL.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems and perform motor insulation tests.
• Ability to read OEM drawings and perform OEM maintenance and preventative maintenance.
• Ability to obtain precise measurements using calipers and dial indicators.
• Ability to perform equipment alignments.
• Ability to lead and perform lifting and rigging operations.
• Ability to perform piping modifications (steel and PVC).
• Access to secure customer locations (e.g., military bases, refineries, power plants).
• Willingness to work shifts outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Availability to travel regionally with overnight stays.
• Proficient in MS Office and capable of operating Windows-based programs remotely from various devices.
