Job summary

Global Power Components is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and service heavy equipment across customer locations. The role requires traveling up to 80–90% of the year and reading electrical schematics and mechanical prints. A valid Driver's License/REAL ID and drug screening are required.

As a privately held manufacturer, we offer opportunities to train customers on product usage and maintain equipment inventories while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in electrical work, repair, and installation.
• Ability to use electrical and mechanical aptitude to determine causes of equipment error
• Ability to work independently as a Field Service Technician and make decisions with little guidance in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain a valid Driver's License and REAL ID to fly domestically
• Pass initial & random drug screening.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and perform maintenance on equipment according to standard procedures in an efficient manner
• Read electrical schematics and mechanical prints.
• Train and educate customers on use of equipment and value of products and services provided
• Maintain records of all services performed, mileage, expenses, and billable hours
• Travel to customer locations within assigned geographic area
• Adhere to all safety requirements and regulations
• Communicate with Dispatch about updates and next assignments
• Maintain associated equipment and inventory
• Ability to travel up to 80-90% of the year

Overview: Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. As a result of our expansion, we are looking for a Field Service Technician to join our growing team.

Responsibilities:

• Proficient in use of tools and standard procedures relating to diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing maintenance on equipment
• Perform scheduled inspections on equipment to prevent future failure, including but not limited to load banking and analyzing voltage requirements
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and perform maintenance on equipment according to standard procedures in an efficient manner
• Able to read an electrical schematic. And mechanical prints.
• Train and educate customers on use of equipment and value of products and services provided
• Follow established expectations for communicating with Dispatch throughout the day regarding updates and next assignments
• Maintain associated equipment and inventory
• Maintain accurate records of all services performed, mileage, expenses, and bill-able hours
• Adhere to all safety requirements and regulations
• The Field Service Technician position reports GPC Field Services Director and travels frequently to customer locations within assigned geographic area.
• Ability to travel up to 80-90% of the year. Methods of transportation may vary.
• Frequently move objects up to 50 pounds
• Comfort in sharing resources like pairing up in work vans.

Qualifications:

• The qualified Field Service Technician will preferably have 2+ years of experience in electrical work, repair, and installation.
• Ability to use electrical and mechanical aptitude to determine causes of equipment error
• Ability to work independently as a Field Service Technician and make decisions with little guidance in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain a valid Driver's License and REAL ID to fly domestically
• Pass initial & random drug screening.
