Job Description

As a Field Service Technician, you will execute commissioning and startup procedures for electrical power systems, ensuring proper functionality, performance optimization, and regulatory compliance.

You will diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, hardware, software, and integrated system failures using troubleshooting methodologies. Additionally, you will conduct comprehensive equipment testing to validate operational integrity, identify inefficiencies, and recommend corrective actions. Generating detailed technical documentation for all service interventions, including fault analysis, corrective measures, and compliance reporting, will be part of your role.

You will address customer technical inquiries, providing expert recommendations on system enhancements, upgrades, and proactive maintenance strategies. Collaboration with your team, sharing critical system insights, troubleshooting findings, and service interventions up to 90% of the time is expected.

Essential Skills

  • Willingness to work overtime and non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Availability for travel.
  • 2+ years of electrical field service experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Power generation/backup power experience.
  • Military experience, preferably in the Navy.
  • Electrical Engineering experience (Bachelor's or Associates).
  • Experience with fluid systems.
  • Experience with SAP/ERP for managing service workflows and inventory tracking.

Work Environment

This role involves up to 90% domestic travel, with potential travel to North and South America if needed. The team comprises 11 other field service technicians/engineers. The work schedule averages 55-60 hours a week with over time. Travel schedules are typically known 2 weeks in advance, mirroring customers' business hours. Training involves up to a month in Cleveland, shadowing existing team members. Full reimbursement for car rentals, flights, and lodging is provided. You will engage with customers in industries such as data centers, healthcare, and government, where the environment can vary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $38.00/hr.
