Job summary

Harris & Bruno International, an international manufacturer of printing press equipment and ancillaries, is seeking a Field Service Technician. You will start-up and commission equipment, train customers, troubleshoot on-site, and demonstrate capabilities to clients with a professional approach.

Expect substantial travel (up to 100% domestically and internationally) and remote coordination with headquarters.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years field service experience on mechanical and electronic equipment.
  • Printing press experience is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of inline/offline coaters and coating applications is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 100%) and work remotely when required.
  • Good communication skills and teamwork in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Start-up and commissioning of equipment on customer sites.
  • Provide on-site training for customers.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical issues on site.
  • Demonstrate equipment capabilities to customers professionally.
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 100%.

Job description

Harris & Bruno International, an international manufacturer of printing press equipment & ancillaries is looking for a Field Service Technician.

Responsible for the following for company products on printing presses:

  • Start-up.
  • Training.
  • Troubleshooting.
  • Demonstration of the capabilities of the equipment to the customer effectively at a professional level.
  • Will travel domestically and internationally up to 100% of the time.

Technical Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation, Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), pneumatic systems and industrial electronics.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and fix mechanical and electrical problems on site.
  • Familiarity with industrial machinery, power transmission and mechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with printing process and/or printing machinery a strong plus.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of field service experience in both mechanical and electronic equipment or equivalent technical degree/training.
  • Printing press experience a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of inline tower coaters or offline coaters and coating applications a plus.
  • Experience in a position that travels a plus.

A Successful Candidate Will Have the Following Traits:

  • Good communication skills with customer and company headquarters with team work mentality.
  • Self starter that is used to working remotely full time.
  • Ability to work independently but also be part of the team and take direction.
  • Ability to set and prioritize own schedule productively.
  • Ability to travel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Standing/Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift).
  • Lifting/Carrying: Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently.
  • Manual Dexterity: Requires the use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, reach, and operate tools, measuring instruments, and computer controls.
  • Vision Requirements: Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to inspect parts and read precision measuring instruments.
  • Hearing and Communication: Must be able to hear machine sounds, alarms, and verbal instructions in a noisy environment.
  • Postural Requirements: Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally climb or balance while loading materials or accessing machinery.
  • Work Environment: Exposure to moving mechanical parts, metal shavings, noise, coolant, and shop odors. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes are required.
