Job summary

Airgas Inc and Subsidiaries seeks a field service technician to install and maintain cryogenic pressure vessels across industrial, medical, and welding markets. You will perform installation, preventative maintenance, and repairs on bulk gas systems and travel to customer sites.

The role requires safety-conscious, hands-on technicians with a valid driver’s license, troubleshooting experience, and the ability to read P&ID diagrams and MSDS; you will work with a team and participate in safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
• U.S. work authorization with no visa sponsorship.
• Ability to travel with overnight stays.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Experience operating a forklift and maintaining the necessary certifications.
• Pass required testing and obtain Medical Certificate and Brazing License.
• Ability to read, interpret, and produce detailed process diagrams (MSDS, safety rules, P&IDs).
• Professional communication with customers and vendors; maintain a professional appearance.
• Ability to write routine reports and professional correspondence.
• Experience troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret various documents (MSDS, safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, P&ID's).

Responsibilities

• Deliver, install, and maintain all cryogenic pressure vessels in the customer base.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Coordinate and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
• Safely manage hazardous materials daily.
• Install piping and final line regulator systems for medical and industrial applications.
• Set alarms for automatic emergency reserve systems of gases at hospitals.
• Install manifolds for high‑pressure gas cylinders.
• Install and maintain cryogenic pumps and drives at branch locations.
• Conduct sight surveys at prospective customer locations.
• Install and maintain cryogenic pumping systems on delivery trucks.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace; attend safety meetings.
• Follow Airgas safety procedures and attend monthly safety meetings.

Responsibilities

Installs and maintains cryogenic pressure vessels in industrial, medical, specialty gas, and welding markets. Attends in‑house and external training to develop expertise in working with bulk gas delivery systems serviced by Airgas Mid South. Performs installation, preventative maintenance, and repairs on bulk gas delivery systems manufactured or distributed by Airgas Mid South. Collaborates with the team to safely operate an Airgas vehicle from the facility to customer locations to complete duties and work orders. Maintains company vehicle, tools, truck inventory, and equipment to be able to respond to customer needs in a timely manner.

• Install and maintain cryogenic pumping systems on delivery trucks.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace and attend safety meetings.
• Follow Airgas safety procedures and attend monthly safety meetings.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
• Valid employment authorization in the U.S. and no requirement for visa sponsorship.
• Capability to write routine reports and professional correspondence.
• Experience and good skills with troubleshooting.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience operating a forklift and maintaining the necessary certifications.
• Pass required testing and obtain Medical Certificate and Brazing License.
• Ability to travel with overnight stays.
• Experience in the safe operation of both electrical and manual hand tools.
• Ability to read, interpret, and produce detailed process diagrams for customer sites.
• Professional communication with customers and vendors; maintain a professional appearance.
• Ability to read and interpret various documents, including MSDS, safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and P&ID's.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with bulk gas delivery systems.
• Prior experience in the HVAC or plumbing industry.
• Prior experience working on pumps or mechanical machinery.
