Job description

Currently, the position involves providing technical assistance and troubleshooting/repair of SEW-EURODRIVE electronic controllers and other electro-mechanical equipment, which includes frequent travel to customer sites.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00/hour

Shift: 1st shift

Education: Certification or Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation preferred

Top skills and abilities:

  • Ability to operate various test instruments, e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, strip chart recorders, etc.
  • Experience with AC variable frequency controllers and servo motor controllers.
  • Basic soldering skills.
  • Knowledge of customer equipment applications.
  • Strong initiative to solve problems outside documented processes, collecting and interpreting information for optimal solutions.
  • Strong computer programming skills and background.
  • Knowledge of various PLC types with troubleshooting and program modification abilities.
  • Experience with industrial fieldbuses (DeviceNet, Profibus) preferred.

  • Assist via phone technical support.
  • Set up electronic controllers for customer orders.

  • Provide on-site support, which may be up to 75% of the time.
