Job summary

Kentucky Machinery Company LLC is seeking a self-driven Field Service Technician for heavy equipment. Based out of Richmond, KY, with regular travel across Kentucky, Southern Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Virginia and beyond, you will diagnose, repair, and service a fleet at customer sites while maintaining thorough records.

The role requires 3–5 years of repair experience, a CDL, and proficiency with CAT SIS 2.0/ET. A company vehicle is provided; overtime is possible.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of heavy equipment repair experience required.
• CDL Class A or B required.
• Experience with CAT SIS 2.0/ET required.
• Proficient with mechanical tools, materials and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel issues on heavy equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service at customer sites.
• Use diagnostic tools and manuals to determine repair needs.
• Repair/replace engines, transmissions, hydraulics, undercarriages, and electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate service records and test equipment post-repair to verify operation.

Field Service Technician- Heavy Equipment (Tri-State: Kentucky, Southern Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Indiana)

Territory/Location: Kentucky, southern Ohio, Tennessee, Indiana, Virginia. Frequent travel, Monday through Friday 7:30-4:30 with overtime.

Compensation: Pay based on knowledge and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a self-driven field service/shop technician who understands the heavy equipment industry, enjoys working directly with contractors and operators, and knows how to build long-term relationships that lead to repeat business.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine issues on company owned heavy equipment fleet.
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on equipment at customer job sites.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, service manuals, and technical resources to accurately determine repair needs.
• Repair and replace components including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, undercarriages, and electrical systems.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and service calls.
• Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation and performance.
• Perform repairs in accordance with company and industry standards, to ensure safety.

Required/Preferred Qualifications

• Must have three to five years of heavy equipment repair experience-Required
• Class A or Class B CDL-Required
• Experience with CAT SIS 2.0/ ET-Required
• Solid experience using mechanical tools, materials, and testing equipment.
• Proven ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
• Must have own tools-Required
• Hourly, plus overtime
